The 8th Night Praski Half Marathon will start on September 2nd. The event is traditionally very popular among runners, almost 5,000 participants are registered a month before the start. The half-marathon will be accompanied by the Praska Five, i.e. a 5 km run. The start and finish of both distances will be located on the PGE Narodowy grounds, and the routes will lead along the most famous streets of Praga, including Wał Miedzeszyński or Francuska Street.
RECORD HALF MARATHON EDITION
This year’s edition of the Half Marathon promises to be extremely exciting! Many world running stars, preparing to break the competition record and the Polish record, confirmed their participation in the event. Among the women at the start, we will see as many as two winners of last year’s edition – Iwona Bernardelli, the winner with a time of 01:14.01, an Olympian from Rio de Janeiro, and the second place winner (1:14.55) Emilia Mazek, who this season has already scored a spectacular victory during the Łódź Marathon. The silver medalist of the Polish Marathon Championships, Monika Andrzejczak, as well as the team medalists of the 2022 European Marathon Championships, Angelika Mach and Monika Jackiewicz, will also take part in the run. The women’s dream team is closed by Izabela Paszkiewicz, who has great chances for a great result and is the leader in the ranking of Polish fastest half-marathon runners in 2022.
Among the men in the Praski Half Marathon 2023 will run Krystian Zalewski, a 15-time Polish Champion (at various distances), the current Polish record holder in the half marathon (1:01.32), who completed the marathon in Prague this May (World Athletics Label Road Races Elite) in the tenth position, being at the same time the best European in the field, Artur Olejarz, the seventh competitor of the 2023 half-marathon in Olomouc, the winner of a number of this year’s runs (including the New Year’s Szczecin Run or the Nysa Run), Monika Jackiewicz’s coach and Mateusz Kaczor, silver medalist of the Polish 10,000 meters (Olkusz, April 22, 2023), 10 km (Gdańsk, August 5, 2023) and a half-marathon run in 2022.

JARZABEK AT THE START OF PRASKA FIVE
Sabina Jarząbek, the gold medalist of the Polish Championships on this distance, a member of the national team, a participant in the European Cross-Country Championships, announced her participation in the Praska Five. Her record for 5 km is 16:18, the record of Praska Five is 16:14 set in 2022 by Natalia Bielak. Whether Jarząbek can beat this result, we will find out in less than a month.
