TOP RUNNERS SET FOR THE WIZZ AIR WARSAW PRASKI NIGHT HALF MARATHON AND PRASKA 5K RUN

This year’s Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon and Praska 5K Run will bring together some of the strongest runners in Poland, joined by leading athletes from Ukraine. Across the two races, nine athletes who have won medals at the 2026 Polish Championships will be on the start line, including four national champions. The line-up also features Olympians, European Championships medallists and a Polish record holder.

Mateusz Kaczor will be one of the leading contenders in the men’s half marathon. The 2024 winner and current Polish marathon champion has a personal best of 1:02:06. He will face Mykola Mevsha of Ukraine, who won the race in 2025 and set the current course record of 1:02:51. Aleksii Pysarev (1:05:55) and Artem Kazban (1:07:13) will also be among the athletes to watch.

The women’s race will feature Monika Olejarz (Jackiewicz), who has a personal best of 1:10:39, and two-time Olympian Angelika Olobry (Mach), whose best stands at 1:11:07. Beata Niemyjska returns to defend her 2025 title after lowering her personal best to 1:12:15 this season. Julia Koralewska (1:12:33), Emilia Mazek (1:14:03) and Ukraine’s Maryna Nemchenko (1:11:13) complete a strong women’s line-up.

The Praska 5K Run will also host the PZLA Polish Men’s 5 km Championships. Kamil Herzyk, the current Polish 5000 m champion and national record holder over 3000 m, will be among the favourites with a 5 km best of 13:58. He will be joined by Adam Nowicki (14:04), the current Polish half marathon champion, Arkadiusz Gardzielewski (14:04), the 2025 Polish marathon champion, Marcin Biskup (14:06), this year’s Polish 10 km champion, and Adam Bajorski (14:03.87), silver medallist in the 3000 m steeplechase at this year’s Polish Championships. All five will be racing in the Praska 5K Run for the first time.

The Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon and Praska 5K Run will take place on 5 September 2026, with both races starting and finishing next to PGE Narodowy.
