Wizz Air, Europe’s most environmentally sustainable airline , today proudly announces that it has become the title sponsor of the Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon. This partnership underscores the airline’s ongoing dedication to supporting local communities, encouraging active lifestyles and highlighting its commitment to Poland – Wizz Air’s home market for over 20 years.
For over two decades, Wizz Air has been an integral part of the Polish economy, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs and helping many Poles fulfill their dreams of joining the aviation industry. In 2025, Wizz Air will continue its dynamic expansion at its Warsaw base by adding four new Airbus A321neo aircraft, bringing the total number of aircraft based in the capital to 34. This growth will lead to the launch of 11 new routes and increase the frequency of flights on several popular connections while offering over 1 million additional seats. This represents a 10% increase in capacity compared to 2024. New routes will include destinations such as Genoa, Pisa, Dortmund, and Bucharest, as well as daily connections between Warsaw and Paris. This continued expansion at Warsaw Airport reflects Wizz Air’s strong commitment to the Polish market and its leadership in low-cost aviation.
Wizz Air has been a key supporter of running events across Europe, sponsoring 8 races in seven countries. In 2024, a record 129,000 runners participated in Wizz Air-running events, marking an impressive 82% increase in participants year over year. This year, the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon joins this growing network, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to promoting active lifestyles and community engagement.
Wizz Air’s sponsorship of the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon is a part of the airline’s broader commitment to enhancing the lives of its passengers, fostering sustainable growth and making fitness and travel accessible to all. Andras Rado, Head of Corporate Communications at Wizz Air said: – We are excited to announce Wizz Air’s 9th running event across Europe, a significant milestone that highlights our long-standing commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles. As we continue to grow in Poland, our home market, we’re proud to support the Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon, further solidifying our connection to this vibrant capital. Just as we connect millions of passengers to new destinations with affordable fares, we believe both flying and running help people achieve their goals—whether it’s exploring new places or reaching personal milestones. We are thrilled to be part of this iconic event in Warsaw, where participants will experience the energy of the city and the spirit of an active, engaged community.
Sławomir Szczęsny, General Director of the event said: – We are very happy to establish cooperation with the Wizz Air, one of the main airlines in Europe, which has been supporting running in 8 European cities for years (Milan, Cluj-Napoca, London, Budapest, Debrecen, Skopje, Sofia, Venice, Rome). The presence of Wizz Air as the title sponsor will significantly increase the rank and recognition of our event on the international map, as well as influence the promotion of the capital city of Warsaw. That is why, after 10 years, we changed the name of the event to English, emphasizing the night nature of the run and its organization in the capital of Poland. The Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon is in the top five half-marathon races in Poland in terms of attendance, gathering thousands of running fans at the start each time. The heart of the race – the start and finish line are located on the PGE Narodowy grounds, and the fast, flat route leads through the most charming corners of Warsaw’s Praga. Finally, I would like to thank our agency partner Sportfive Poland sp. z o. o. for its commitment to establishing cooperation with Wizz Air. We believe that together with Wizz Air we will create a unique running event that will not only be an excellent platform for athletes, but also an inspiration for those who are just starting their adventure with running. We are looking forward to the upcoming editions and hope for many joint successes in the future!”
