LISOWSKA AND JARZĄBEK ARE THIS YEAR’S RECORD HOLDERS OF THE ROUTE OF THE 9TH NIGHT PRASKI HALF MARATHON AND THE PRASKA FIVE, KACZOR AND GOS THE FIRST AMONG MEN.
The 9th Night Praski Half Marathon and the accompanying Praska Five are becoming history. What emotions those were! Over 12,000 participants stood at the start of both races, including the elite of the best Polish competitors.
The Praska Five was the first to start. A fast, flat route and incredible support from the fans resulted in fantastic results! Among men, Mateusz Gos (KS START PUŁASKI WARTA) was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 14.36, Andrzej Starżyński (KB RUDNIK) was second in 14.46, and Krzysztof Wasiewicz, a representative of KONDYCJA PIASECZNO, was third with a time of 15.15.
Among women, Sabina Jarząbek (KKL KIELCE) improved her last year’s course record by 1 second. From today it is 15.56! Paulina Kaczyńska (WMLKS Pomorze Stargard) took second place in 16.30, and Elżbieta Glinka (LKS Maków) was third in 16.52.
“The beginning… I couldn’t really feel the route, I knew Paulina was behind me. I was a little scared, but I figured that you only live once and if not today, then when. I set off as best as I could and fought every kilometer as much as I could. And as you can see, the result is a record for the route, I’m very happy! Once again I ran under 16 minutes, so great!” – said Sabina Jarząbek right after the winning run.
The 9th Night Praski Half Marathon started sharply at 8:30 p.m. The route led through the most famous places in Warsaw’s Praga, such as Francuska Street, Wał Miedzeszyński and Rondo Washingtona. There were music points, numerous hydration points and a crowd of cheering fans.
The winner was Mateusz Kaczor (RLTL ZTE RADOM) with a time of 1:05.01, maintaining the leading position gained during last year’s edition. Adam Głogowski (UKS-EKONOMIK MARATOŃCZYK LĘBORK) took second place in 1:06.55, Krystian Zalewski (UKS BARNIM GOLENIÓW) was third in 1:08.46.
,,It’s hard, but the wind and the high temperature… It’s nice that I won, but far from what I expected. Well, I’ll keep pushing, there’s no point in breaking down,” Mateusz Kaczor summed up his performance.
The women’s category was won by Aleksandra Lisowska (AZS UWM OLSZTYN), with a time of 1:12.41, setting a new course record. Emila Mazek (AZS AWF WARSZAWA) was second for another year in a row, 1:14.20, and Monika Jackiewicz (MKL SZCZECIN) was third with a time of 1:14.39.
“It was hard for me to run because less than a month had passed since the Paris marathon. Unfortunately, this body was tired. Thanks for such a great atmosphere on the route today and there were so many fans, it carried me… and therefore today’s record. I just don’t believe it.” – Lisowska said about her run.
