THE BEST RUNNERS AT THE START OF THE 9TH NIGHT PRASKI HALF-MARATHON

It’s going to be an emotionally-charged race! 11 leading Polish runners will participate in the Praski Half Marathon and the Praska Five. Each of them will try to break the course record and the Polish record.

Among the women at the starting line of the half marathon we will see the last year winner – Izabela Paszkiewicz with a time of 01:14.23, Aleksandra Lisowska, European Marathon Champion (Munich 2022), the Polish representative at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 (marathon), Iwona Bernardelli, an Olympian from Rio de Janeiro and Emilia Mazek, who won the national vice-championship during the Lodz Marathon this season. Last but not least, the women’s elite on this distance is completed by very experienced and titled Monika Jackiewicz – the current Polish champion in the half marathon, team medalist of the European Marathon Championships in 2022.

Among the men in the 9th Night Praski Half Marathon will run – Mateusz Kaczor, the course record holder with a time of 1:03:27, freshly crowned gold medalist of the Polish Championships in the marathon and 10 km run, Krystian Zalewski, national record holder in the half marathon, 15-time Polish Champion (at various distances) and Artur Olejarz, Polish cross-country championship medalist.

Kaczor announced an attempt to break the Polish record, which stands at 1:01:32 and has belonged to Zalewski since 2020. To do so, he will have to improve his personal record in the half-marathon by more than 30 seconds (it currently stands at 1:02:06.).

Praska Five will be equally exciting. The 2023 Polish Championship medalist at the distances of 5,000m, 10,000m and 10km – Mateusz Gos – will try to break the course record. In the women’s race, Sabina Jarząbek, the winner of last year’s edition, will try to defend her title, but this task may be made much more difficult by the current Polish vice-champion in the 5,000m run Eliza Megger.
